Frequently Asked Questions about Hastings Soccer Club:

1) How often do teams practice?
Typically our teams practice about twice per week during the season but this is completely up to the team coaches.

2) Where do teams practice?
We do not have designated practice fields so this is again up to the team coaches. It is common for teams to use public fields around town like Prairie Ridge Park, Hawthorne Elementary, east of 16th St YMCA, Hastings High, or Hastings College (with permission). 

3) Where are the games played?
Our league games can be played almost any where in the state. In the past several seasons our teams have played in Kearney, Lexington, Columbus, York, Lincoln, Fremont, Omaha, and occasionally Hastings. We work with the league to try getting as many home games as possible but that isn't always possible.

4) What are the player fees?
In the past, our registration fee has been $80 per season with a Fall & Spring season each year. Beginning with the 2018-2019 season, we switched to an annual $155 registration to align with the state system and improve player/team retention from fall to spring.
We have a late registration fee of $20 for 1-2 weeks after our standard registration is closed.
Uniforms - we try to use uniforms for multiple seasons to keep the costs lower but this can change every season depending on availability. The past few seasons our uniform costs have been $65 for shorts & 2 shirts.

5) When are try outs?
We are a semi-competitive club and do not have try outs. We take all the player registrations and do our best to find enough players to make an age appropriate team. Sometime this means that younger players must play on an older team if they want to play.

6) Why is my player considered a U13 aged player but is only 11 years old when I registered?
U13 stands for "Under 13" (or up to 12 & under) and age divisions are based on their birth year for the annual season they are entering which ends in the spring. Entering the fall, a player that turns 12 before Jan 1st will be a U13 division player. Here is a chart for each season.
