Coaches: You’re invited to the Black Soccer Coaches Symposium, sponsored by US Club Soccer

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 28, 2024) – Registration to the 2024 Black Soccer Coaches Symposium, to be held July 22 at the Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, is now open for a limited time. The event features a classroom session, panel discussion and field session, led by talented coaches with amateur and professional experience. Black Soccer Coaches, an advocacy group whose mission is to advocate, educate, promote and support Black soccer coaches, is extending free registration to US Club Soccer member coaches and administrators.

This is the second year of the symposium, which is held annually during MLS All-Star Week to maximize professional development and networking opportunities. It is sponsored by US Club Soccer, Soccer.com, adidas and Duktig Brand.

The classroom session, presented by Dr. Terry Eguaoje, is titled: “Role of match analysis at the international, professional, college, club & high school levels.” Dr. Eguaoje was an analyst and assistant coach for Nigeria during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and he holds both U.S. Soccer and UEFA ‘A’ licenses.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Skye Jordan, host of the popular Shea Butter FC podcast, in a session titled: “Navigating the soccer landscape from a black administrator & coach.Yolanda Thomas, Orlando Pride assistant coach; Isang Jacob, United Soccer Coaches educator; Geoff Starks, Sporting Columbus Boys DOC; and Keidane McAlphine, University of Georgia head women’s coach; are the panelists.

Thomas will also lead the field session: “Role of the midfield when building out of the back & connecting with the forwards.” Additionally, attendees are treated to breakfast, lunch and an evening social. The educational sessions run from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
