While the additions represent an expansion of the league’s footprint in the area, the Club Development League also continues to broaden its programming, facilitating local implementation of US Club Soccer coach education, Player Development Programs (PDP) and the Iowa State Cup.
“The Club Development League continues to grow, now spanning most of Iowa and has its first affiliate from Western Illinois,” said Ian Bradley, Executive Director of the Club Development League. “More than 170 teams now play in the U-13 through U-19 league, and we are delighted to welcome three new affiliates in Quad Cities Rush, Dubuque Soccer Club and AYSO United.”
“Quad Cities Rush is really excited about joining the CDL of Iowa,” said Jason White, Technical Director of Quad Cities Rush. “We’ve competed against these clubs and coaches previously, so we know the talent and commitment these clubs bring to the field. Our players will be tested on a weekly basis and that can only help our development long term.”
“The Dubuque Soccer Club is excited to be joining the CDL this coming Fall,” said Jason Berna, Administrator of Dubuque Soccer Club. “We have enjoyed playing the EYISL clubs on the eastern side of Iowa, and the CDL allows us to continue to have great competition and great leadership, so we can impact future soccer players in Dubuque.”
“We are excited for the opportunity to play in the CDL and cannot wait for the fall season to start,” added Todd Bell, Technical Director of AYSO United.
