A guide to US Club Soccer offerings at 2023 United Soccer Coaches Convention

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Nov. 23, 2022) – US Club Soccer is hosting multiple coaching education sessions during the 2023 United Soccer Coaches Convention, to be held Jan. 11-15 in Philadelphia. Together with its partner LaLiga, US Club Soccer has had a strong presence at the annual event for many years, considered “the world’s largest annual gathering of soccer coaches.” The Convention is effective for both networking and coaching development.

On the opening day, US Club Soccer and LaLiga will co-host two sessions. The first is a special, add-on course available to Convention attendees through a separate registration. LaLiga methodology experts Carlos Casal and Saúl Vázquez Chas – the leaders of the popular LaLiga Formation Methodology series – will lead “Understanding, Creating and Implementing a Game Model and Match Strategy” from 12-4 p.m. Registration is limited; more information and sign-up details are available here.

Later that evening, a complementing field session open to all Convention attendees will take place from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Kwik Goal Demo Fields in Convention Center Hall D. For coaches who attend both US Club Soccer sessions on Jan. 11, they will receive a LaLiga special topics course certificate. The field session is titled: “Implementing a Game Model Individually and Collectively.”

On Friday, Jan. 13, US Club Soccer’s Coach Licensing Technical Leads – Marcie Schwartz, Beau Morki and Brian Seifert – will present a classroom session from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in Room 103AB, titled: “Developing a Strategic Plan for Coach Education in Your Organization.” The session will detail how to develop an education plan to elevate the standard of coaching within clubs and leagues.

Additionally, a US Club Soccer Lounge will be constructed adjacent to the Convention registration area in the Grand Hall. Throughout the full Convention dates, US Club Soccer staff will meet with members and partners in our collective efforts to move the sport forward. Collaborating with LaLiga and United Soccer Coaches to provide these opportunities is consistent with US Club Soccer’s belief that coaching education should be accessible, affordable and available.
