National Cup XXI Finals caps cup-based championship series

DENVER, Colorado (July 21, 2022) – Two dozen teams were awarded championships at the National Cup XXI Finals, which spanned July 14-21 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado. Girls teams kicked off the event, playing July 14-18, and the boys wrapped up the tournament, competing July 17-21.

The National Cup is US Club Soccer’s longest-running competition, celebrating its 21st edition this summer. The Finals is the culminating event of a cup-based championship series that includes qualifying state cups and National Cup Regionals. More than 7,000 teams competed in this year’s series, including 222 U-13 through U-19 boys and girls teams at the National Cup Finals. The tournament field, which included teams from 22 states, provided a developmentally stimulating environment with geographical diversity, contrasting styles and championship pressure. Winning teams endured three group stage games, before advancing to semifinal and final rounds.
