SOCAL qualifies teams to 2022 NPL postseason

CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 11, 2022) – SOCAL has qualified 12 girls teams and 20 boys teams from U-13 through U-19 age groups to this summer’s NPL postseason. 

SoCal Elite qualified its U-14, U-15 and U-17 boys teams while a duo of clubs claimed two titles each on the girls side (LAFC – G2004 and G2005 and CDA Slammers FC – G2008 and G2006). 

The 12 girls teams have earned a direct berth to 2022 NPL Finals which will be held July 7-11 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, CO. It’s the culmination of the 2021-22 NPL season, which features 18 total NPLs around the country – including SoCal – competing for national titles.

The U-14 through U-17 boys qualifiers will face a two-stage competition, next competing in the NPL Boys West Playoffs with ultimate aspirations of the NPL Finals in July. The U-13 boys will see their postseason end at NPL West playoffs where a champion will be crowned. A single-stage competition for the U-18/19 boys as well, qualifying teams have already punched tickets directly to the Finals.
