US Club Soccer to host nine U.S. Soccer C courses in 2022

CHARLESTON, S.C. (Jan. 26, 2022) – US Club Soccer has been approved to host nine U.S. Soccer C courses in 2022, demonstrating a continued expansion of coaching education offerings to members. Last week, U.S. Soccer announced all approved C courses for the coming year.

US Club Soccer has hosted more than 450 grassroots courses since 2018 and will co-host the following C courses with member organizations in various regions this year:

  • February 21 – July 9: Norco, CA (co-hosted by SOCAL Soccer League)
  • March 7 – July 17: Plymouth, MN (co-hosted by Twin Cities Soccer Leagues)
  • March 28 – August 14: Hudson, OH (co-hosted by Great Lakes Alliance)
  • April 4 – August 22: Rye Brook, NY
  • April 11 – August 26: Davis, CA (co-hosted by NorCal Premier Soccer)
  • April 18 – September 5: Weymouth, MA
  • June 13 – October 27: Davis, CA (co-hosted by NorCal Premier Soccer)
  • July 25 – December 5: Deptford, NJ
  • August 22 – January 6, 2023: Irvine, CA (co-hosted by SOCAL Soccer League)

The C course focuses on the core concepts of coaching, and registered candidates have weekly educational opportunities via a blend of online independent learning modules and live sessions led by a licensed U.S. Soccer instructor. Registration for the courses is available on the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.

Other US Club Soccer-hosted grassroots modules and D courses are also available throughout the year. To view US Club Soccer’s robust coaching education offerings, including U.S. Soccer continuing education, please visit this web page.

“Our goal is to provide coach education that’s affordable, accessible and regularly available to our members throughout the country,” said Ashley Lehr, US Club Soccer Sr. Manager of Club Development and Outreach. “The opportunity to host C courses in various regions and continue to expand these offerings is crucial, because we’re able to provide coaches with a pathway for long-term development. And ultimately, we positively impact the experience for an exponential number of players.”

US Club Soccer member organizations can apply to co-host grassroots modules (4v4, 7v7, 9v9, 11v11) and D courses, or C courses. In addition to hosting courses, US Club Soccer regularly nominates new coach educators into U.S. Soccer’s Coach Educator Education and Development (CEED) pathway to expand the number of licensed educators.
