CHARLESTON, S.C. (Dec. 29, 2021) – The application deadline is approaching for the 2022 Ohio State Cup, US Club Soccer’s state tournament for U8 through U18/19 boys and girls teams. Interested teams have until January 31, 2021, to register. The Ohio State Cup is presented by the Great Lakes Alliance.

Open to US Club Soccer member teams in Ohio, U12 and younger age groups will play preliminary matches at Lost Nation Sports Park, May 14-15, in Willoughby. The U13 and older age groups will play preliminary games, May 7-8, at both the Strongsville Complex in Strongsville, and the Hall of Fame Village in Canton. Semifinals and Finals matches for all age groups will be played May 21-22, at Darree Fields in Dublin, Ohio.

The Ohio State Cup offers both Super Group (most competitive) and Premier divisions. All 2022 Ohio State Cup champions in the 13-U through 19-U Super Group brackets advance to the National Cup XXI Finals in Colorado in July 2022. Premier Group champions of the Ohio State Cup earn entry to the National Cup XXI Midwest Regional in Chicago in June 2022.

The playing format is traditional round-robin play with championship games: 7v7 for U8 through U10 teams, 9v9 for U11 and U12 teams and 11v11 for U13 through U18/19 teams.

Teams must hold US Club Soccer passcards at the time of the event in order to participate. Teams currently not carded with US Club Soccer may do so by contacting Membership Services Representative Todd Bailey at tbailey@usclubsoccer.org.
