DENVER – The third day of competition at the 2021 National Premier Leagues Finals saw 10 NPL Girls teams clinch semifinal spots and two earn a place in the U-19 NPL Girls National Final on Saturday, July 10, at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colorado.

Three clubs stood out heading into the semifinals and finals stages of the NPL Girls Finals as Club Ohio, KC Fusion and AFC Lightning each had two teams earn spots semifinals or finals games of their respective age divisions.

Club Ohio teams claimed spots in the U-14 and U-15 semifinals, while KC Fusion placed semifinal squads in the U-13 and U-16 age groups. Additionally, AFC Lightning’s U-19 team earned a place in Monday’s NPL championship match against Cleveland Cobras SC. The U-19 Girls NPL Finals match will be streamed live on US Club Soccer’s YouTube channel and Facebook page at 9:00 a.m. mountain time. AFC Lightning’s second team to advance was its U-14 squad, which will face Fever FC in the semifinals tomorrow morning.

The 2021 NPL Finals continue tomorrow, July 11, at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park starting at 9:00 a.m. mountain time. The NPL Boys Finals competition concludes bracket play to determine finals qualifiers for U-14 through U-17 age groups. NPL Girls semifinals contests from ages U-13 through U-17 will be played to determine Monday’s finalists.
