US Club Soccer Texas State Cup sends top talent from Texas to National Cup Finals

The first-ever US Club Soccer Texas State Cup was played in Frisco, Texas at the Toyota Soccer Center from March 23rd to March 25th.

Hosted by U90C Sports, the inaugural tournament featured approximately 170 of the best U9-U19 boys and girls teams representing their respective home cities throughout Texas. Bragging rights were not the only thing on the line for these elite teams, as the champions from the U13-U19 Super Group divisions advanced to the US Club Soccer National Cup Finals, and the champions from the U13-U19 Premier Group divisions advanced to the US Club Soccer South Central Regionals, as did the finalists from the U13-U19 Super Group divisions.

The suspense built throughout the weekend as teams competed for their ticket to Nationals and Regionals in front of large, passionate crowds. Throughout the tournament, Toyota Soccer Center saw 10k+ attendees funnel through the facility to watch their teams battle it out on the field. The fan engagement didn’t stop at the facility, as the digital presence over tournament week skyrocketed in social media engagement (2.2k+), social media impressions (38k+) and website visits (14k+).

The weekend festivities kicked off with a unique opportunity for tournament coaches to learn from LaLiga coaching experts at the LaLiga Coaching Master Classes on Thursday and Friday. LaLiga’s integration with Texas State Cup didn’t stop there, as players in the U16+ divisions were scouted by LaLiga to find the tournament’s top talent. These players have received special invitations to travel to Spain and train with official LaLiga clubs and academies. Also in attendance was the U.S. College Soccer Experts scouting talent for collegiate soccer programs across the United States. The Striker Texas brought a team of journalists to cover the tournament for post-game stories and interviews with players and coaches, too.

Off the field, Texas State Cup featured various experiential fan activations including Nike apparel by Soccer.com, automatic video by Veo, athlete recovery zone by Performance Medicine & Sports Therapy and much more. For the players, the championship zone included a 20×20 stage with cold-spark cannons that shined through the night as teams were awarded with champion & finalist medals, and the coaches hoisted the Texas State Cup champion and finalist trophies.
