Q: Why did Chargers Soccer Club apply for Players First licensing?

Antonio Saviano, Technical Director: The Chargers Soccer Club staff are always thinking of ways to improve our members’ overall experience.  The Players First initiative will not only help to improve our club as a whole but also help evaluate our club’s standards and keep all of our members, coaches, administration staff and Board of Directors in “check”. There is no doubt that our Chargers Soccer Club strives to be a leader in the soccer community and to become part of the elite clubs demonstrates what our goal is all about. 

Q: What does it mean for Chargers Soccer Club to now be an official Players First-licensed club?

Saviano: Being a Players First-licensed club means that we as a club are ready to provide support in the five key areas of Club Development, Coaching Development, Player Development, Parent Engagement & Education and Player Health & Safety. Our goal is to create the most positive environment and offer everyone an unforgettable experience.

Q: What makes Players First licensing different from other initiatives or programs your club has participated in?

Saviano: The Players First initiative not only proves our commitment to offering a different experience for our parents and players but also proves that we are committed to developing our players to their fullest potential not only on the field but also off the field. Our members will understand what it means to fully commit to the Players First initiative. Our goal is to help members make the correct choices, where they should play, and how. 

Q: What would you like the parents of Chargers Soccer Club to know about what this means to them?

Saviano: We are a youth soccer club based in three different communities and it is important for our members to know that our focus is always to make sure the players come first in any decision we make. Our players are the pillars of our club and we are committed across our three communities to offer the best experience for everyone involved.
