Q: Why did Miramar United Elite FC apply for Players First licensing?

Richard Jobson, Executive Director: When we first heard of Players First, we knew that the philosophical commitments were in line with the culture and values that we instill in our club. It is important for our community of players, parents, coaches and alumni to have the opportunity to be recognized for the values that they bring to the soccer world. Education is the top priority at our club. We want our players to know that their future is beyond the playing field. This is another area which they can see the value and importance of an education.

Q: What does it mean for Miramar United Elite FC to now be an official Players First-licensed club?

Jobson: We are humbled and honored to be recognized along with so many other fantastic clubs around the nation. We look to uphold the values and represent the Players First community for years to come. We know that this will help provide us with more opportunities for our coaches and players to continue their educational and developmental pathways. 

Q: What makes Players First licensing different from other initiatives or programs your club has participated in?

Jobson: Our club culture is committed to the holistic development of the players. Players First really gives us an opportunity to highlight these values and ideals that we have. We look forward to the educational opportunities that Players First licensing provides for our coaches. We know the this will help improve the development of our players as well. We are excited for the future. 

Q: What would you like the parents of Miramar United Elite FC to know about what this means to them?

Jobson: We could not do it without you. Family is the backbone of our club. We want them to know that even though we do things differently from the other clubs in our area, we do this for a reason: we believe it is what is best for the holistic growth and development of your children. Trust and know that we will always make decisions that are in their children’s best interest.
