The Red River NPL is expanding next season by way of the Oklahoma Premier Clubs welcoming in two new member clubs: Blitz United SC (Tulsa, OK) and Oklahoma Energy FC (Edmond, OK).
These new additions are bringing their 11-U through 19-U boys and girls teams to the Oklahoma Premier Clubs, with 13-U through 19-U regional teams competing in the Red River NPL.
The 2020-21 season will be the Red River NPL’s fourth year within the National Premier Leagues. Beyond the membership connection with Oklahoma Premier Clubs, the Red River NPL also includes clubs from Arkansas, Louisiana, south Kansas and north Texas.
Here are the member clubs:
“Oklahoma Energy FC is excited and looking forward to being a part of the OPC and the Red River NPL,” said Jimmy Hampton, Director of Coaching for Oklahoma Energy FC. “As the soccer landscape is constantly evolving, we felt this was a great opportunity to continue to strive to be a full-service club and provide meaningful games for all of our kids. The clubs involved in the OPC and Red River NPL platform have done a great job under this platform, and we look forward to joining them in promoting our kids, community, club and state.”
“We are pleased to be joining the OPC and Red River NPL,” said Robbie Mitchell, Director of Coaching for Blitz United. “Our players are excited to be playing new and more diverse competition. This is the path to get Oklahoma soccer under one administration.”
The Red River NPL boasts a defending 2019 Girls NPL Finals champion in South Lakes SC, which won a thrilling final in penalty kicks.
