Roster announced for 2025 boys id2 National Selection team competing in Scotland
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 14, 2025) – US Club Soccer has selected its boys id2 National Selection team that will compete in Scotland in April. The 2025 id2 National Selection International Tour spans April 20-28, beginning with a brief domestic camp in New Jersey before traveling to Glasgow and Edinburgh for an immersive experience of training, competition and culture. The tour represents the final progression of the current id2 age group cycle targeting players born in 2011.
Eighteen boys were selected from id2 National Training Camps held in South Carolina and California over the past couple months. For the id2 National Selection boys team, the tradition of foreign competition continues, and this year’s roster joins an elite community of alumni, including Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams and Tim Weah.

This year’s boys international tour will be lead by id2 boys head coach Benjamin Ziemer (NorCal Premier). Ziemer will have two complementing assistant coaches in Darel Russell (LV Heat Surf) and Matt Bernard (US Club Soccer). In the coming weeks, US Club Soccer will announce the opponents of the 2025 id2 National Selection International Tour.
The id2 Program is a leader in player identification and development, as it provides opportunities for elite athletes to be identified, developed and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s youth national team programming. The id2 Program is an Olympic Development Program approved by the United States Olympic Committee and the U.S. Soccer Federation. There is no cost for players to participate or be scouted, and all meals, lodging and gear are provided by US Club Soccer and Nike. For the international tour, all travel costs are also covered by US Club Soccer. This approach to eliminating barriers to entry helps ensure the best players are able to participate.
