South Central Regional kicks off National Cup XXIII Regionals

TULSA, Okla. (June 10, 2024) – The South Central Regional, the summer’s first Regional event of the National Cup XXIII tournament series, concluded Monday afternoon after four days of competition at Mohawk Sports Complex in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In total, 16 teams representing 10 clubs were awarded Regional titles and qualification to next month’s National Cup XXIII Finals in Denver, Colorado.

The South Central Regional, which featured 92 teams across seven states in the region, offered a competitive cup-based environment for U-13 through U-19 boys and girls teams. Tulsa Soccer Club defended its home city well, winning six divisions, including four of the five total girls brackets. The South Central Regional has proven to be an exceptional qualification pathway for Tulsa SC, as the club also won five division titles last year.

Oklahoma Celtic (U-14 boys Premier Group and U-16 girls) was the only other club to win more than one division. In addition to Tulsa SC, two other clubs defended South Central Regional titles from last summer: Sporting Springfield, which won the U-16 boys Super Group, and West Side Alliance, which won the U-19 boys Super Group. For West Side Alliance and coach Tyler Campbell, it’s the fourth consecutive title.
