US Club Soccer’s New Jersey State Cup sends eight teams to National Cup XXI Finals
CHARLESTON, S.C. (July 2, 2022) – The 2022 US Club Soccer New Jersey State Cup concluded in mid-June with eight teams from five clubs earning tickets to the National Cup XXI Finals by winning their Super Group divisions.
STA earned more Super Group division titles than any other club, securing the U-13 boys, U-15 boys, U-16 boys and U-19 boys age groups. All the winning clubs are familiar to New Jersey State Cup glory, as all five also clinched divisions during last year’s event.
The New Jersey State Cup also featured eight Premier Group divisions, of which winners earned entry to the National Cup XXI Mid-Atlantic Regional, held this past weekend in Somerset, N.J.
The New Jersey State Cup is a qualifying tournament into US Club Soccer’s cup-based championship series, known as the National Cup, of which this particular state cup is a proven pathway for several National Cup Finals champions over the years. The final stage of the series is the National Cup Finals. Qualifying state cups and National Cup Regionals place teams into the Finals. This year’s event will be held July 14-21 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado.
