Four clubs reign supreme at 2022 New York State Cup, earn qualification to National Cup XXI Finals

CHARLESTON, S.C. (July 1, 2022) – The 2022 New York State Cup concluded in mid-June at HBC Soccer Park in Huntington Station with seven teams from four clubs earning tickets to the National Cup XXI Finals. The tournament was hosted by Great Lakes Alliance.

Eastern FC was the big winner among competing clubs, grabbing three age groups: U-15 girls, U-16 girls and U-19 boys. FC Somers was close behind with a pair of division titles.

While the above age groups represent the division winners eligible for advancement to the National Cup Finals, the 2022 New York State Cup also featured a handful of younger age groups that were not eligible for advancement to the Finals.

The New York State Cup is a qualifying tournament into US Club Soccer’s cup-based championship series, known as the National Cup. The final stage of the series is the National Cup Finals. Qualifying state cups and National Cup Regionals place teams into the Finals. This year’s event will be held July 14-21 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado.
