Four clubs claim 2022 Carolina State Cup championships

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 9, 2022) – The 2022 Carolina State Cup, featuring U-13 through U-18/19 boys teams, qualified six teams to the National Cup XXI Finals. The tournament spanned two weekends in May, ultimately concluding May 15 at Hanna Park in Shelby, N.C.

Two clubs won a pair of division titles apiece: Charlotte Eagles (U-14 and U-16) and One7 Academy (U-15 and U-17). Barca Charlotte (U-13) and IDF (U-18/19) were the other victors. The Carolina Champions League hosts the Carolina State Cup, which launched last year.

The National Cup XXI Finals will be held July 14-21 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, Colorado, where National Cup championships are awarded. Charlotte Eagles (2017) and One7 Academy (2019, 2015 x2, and 2012) have both won National Cup Finals trophies in the past.

US Club Soccer’s state championship competitions allow members to develop a format as they see best in their respective state, which may include multiple competition levels, a home-and-home series, team seeding, as well as flexible schedule and roster rules.
