CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 9, 2022) – The 2022 Ohio State Cup, featuring the largest tournament field in US Club Soccer history with 480 teams, has qualified 24 teams to the National Cup XXI. Super Group champions advance directly to the National Cup XXI Finals, and Premier Group winners earn entry to the National Cup XXI Midwest Regional.

The 2022 Ohio State Cup featured strong geographical diversity throughout the state, offering teams the opportunity to challenge the best teams from all areas of Ohio. It was hosted by the Great Lakes Alliance. The semifinals and finals were held May 21-22 at Darree Fields in Dublin.

Two clubs led a balanced tournament with three division championships apiece: OPFC (U-9 boys Premier Group, U-13 boys Premier Group, U-16 boys Super Group) and Cuyahoga Valley Soccer Academy (U-13 boys Super Group, U-14 boys Super Group and U-16 girls Super Group). Seven clubs won two divisions each: Ambassadors FC, Canton Akron United Force, Cleveland Force, Internationals SC, Mercury, Pacesetter and Westerville United. Blast FC ’07 defended its title from the 2021 Ohio State Cup by winning this year’s U-15 boys Super Group.
