2022 Minnesota Cup winners infuse National Cup XXI with North Central talent

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 9, 2022) – The Minnesota Cup concluded this past weekend at Miller Park in Eden Prairie with 30 teams being awarded state championships. The tournament, hosted by Twin Cities Soccer Leagues, featured U-11 through U-18/19 boys and girls teams.

Winners of the U-13 through U-18/19 Super Group divisions earned advancement to the National Cup XXI Finals, while winners of the U-13 through U-18/19 Premier Group brackets earned entry to the National Cup XXI Midwest Regional.

Fusion SC won six divisions: U-11 girls Premier, U-12 girls Super, U-15 girls Premier, U-16 girls Premier, U-16 boys Premier and U-18/19 boys Premier. Three other clubs clinched three divisions apiece: MN Thunder Academy (U-17 girls, U-17 boys and U-18/19 girls), Tonka United (U-13 girls, U-16 girls and U-18/19 girls), St. Paul Blackhawks (U-13 boys, U-15 girls and U-15 boys). St. Croix SC’s U-15 girls team won the Super Group division, repeating Minnesota Cup glory after winning the U-14 girls Super Group title last year.
