Midwest Developmental League qualifiers ready to make impact at 2022 NPL Boys East Playoffs

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 13, 2022) – The Midwest Developmental League has qualified its top boys teams to the 2022 NPL postseason. Six teams have earned the right to continue playing past the regular season of the Midwest Developmental League – a founding member league of the National Premier Leagues in 2011.

Louisville FC Academy had a particularly strong season, capturing three age groups: U-14, U-15 and U-17. Club Ohio (U-13), Blast FC (U-16) and Cincinnati Elite (U-18/19) were the other Midwest Developmental League champions.

The next step for the U-13 through U-17 qualifiers is the NPL Boys East Playoffs, to be held June 24-28 in Bermuda Run, N.C. The U-13 age group finishes at both Playoff events – East and West – while the U-14 through U-17 age groups have a two-stage postseason, beginning at the Playoffs and concluding for top performers at the NPL Finals in Colorado. Like the youngest age group, the U-18/19 age group only has a single-stage postseason, but their event is held at the NPL Finals.
