Southwest NPL qualifies top boys and girls teams to 2022 NPL postseason

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 14, 2022) – The Southwest NPL has qualified its top boys and girls teams to the 2022 NPL West Playoffs and NPL Finals, respectively. In total, 10 teams have earned the right to compete for NPL championships this summer.

The Southwest NPL featured strong parity across age groups with only one club winning multiple age groups: Spartans FC (U-15 girls and U-17 girls). And one club advancing to this year’s postseason already has its name etched in the NPL Finals record books: Anaheim FC won a National Premier Leagues championship in 2016.

The four qualifying girls teams will head directly to the 2022 NPL Finals, July 7-11 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, CO. The U-14 through U-17 boys qualifiers face a two-stage competition, next competing in the NPL Boys West Playoffs with ultimate aspirations of the NPL Finals. The U-13 boys will see their postseason end at NPL East Playoffs, where a champion is crowned. The U-18/19 boys division is a single-stage competition, as well, with that qualifier competing at the NPL Finals.
