NISL NPL Division sends qualifying teams to 2022 NPL postseason

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 21, 2022) – The Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL) NPL Division has qualified its top boys and girls teams to the 2022 NPL West Playoffs and NPL Finals. In total, 15 teams earned slots to the national postseason after enduring season-long competition within the league.

NISL, founded in 1975, is a mainstay in youth soccer. More than 1,000 teams compete annually within the league, which has multiple tiers of competition. NISL has competed within the National Premier Leagues (NPL) since its inception in 2011.

Sockers FC is atop the club leaderboard within the league, having clinched four boys age groups. Three other clubs won two divisions apiece: Addison United, Grand Mustangs FC and La Grange Celtics.

The six qualifying girls teams will head directly to the 2022 NPL Finals, July 7-11 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, CO. The U-14 through U-17 boys qualifiers face a two-stage competition, next competing in the NPL Boys West Playoffs with ultimate aspirations of the NPL Finals. The U-13 boys will see their postseason end at NPL West Playoffs, where a champion is crowned. The U-18/19 boys division is a single-stage competition, as well, with that qualifier competing at the NPL Finals.
