New England Premiership qualifiers prepare to take on 2022 NPL postseason
CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 17, 2022) – The New England Premiership (NEP) has qualified its top boys and girls teams to the 2022 NPL East Playoffs and NPL Finals. In total, 12 teams emerged as league champions after convincing regular season performances and standout play at the NEP NPL Final Four weekend, which was held this past weekend.
The NEP is a long-time member of the National Premier Leagues (NPL) platform, having been founded in 2011 as part of the NPL’s inaugural season. Clubs throughout New England compete annually in both league-based and cup-based competitions within US Club Soccer.
On the league-based side of the league, the NPL serves as the top division of play. Aztec Soccer (MA) secured the most age groups with five total. The Boston Bolts (MA) were the only other club with more than one division title, as it grabbed a pair of league championships on the boys side of the brackets.

The six qualifying girls teams will head directly to the 2022 NPL Finals, July 7-11 at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park in Denver, CO. The U-14 through U-17 boys qualifiers face a two-stage competition, next competing in the NPL Boys East Playoffs with ultimate aspirations of the NPL Finals. The U-13 boys will see their postseason end at NPL East Playoffs, where a champion is crowned. The U-18/19 boys division is a single-stage competition, as well, with that qualifier competing at the NPL Finals.
