NorCal Premier qualifies teams through league-based and cup-based pathways to US Club Soccer national postseason

CHARLESTON, S.C. (June 3, 2022) – Top teams from NorCal Premier’s league-based and cup-based competitions have now qualified to US Club Soccer’s national postseason. Fourteen boys and girls teams earned berths to the National Premier Leagues (NPL) postseason after a competitive NorCal NPL regular season, capped by the NorCal College Showcase two weeks ago. Additionally, 12 teams claimed spots to the National Cup XXI Finals – the prize for winning their respective divisions at the NorCal State Cup three weeks ago.
The National Premier Leagues postseason features a single stage for girls teams, so the top performing team from U-14 through U-18/19 age groups earn advancement to the
2022 NPL Finals, which will be held July 7-11 in Denver, Colorado. The NPL boys postseason, however, features two stages: the NPL Boys East/West Playoffs and the NPL Finals. NorCal’s top two teams from U-14 through U-17 age groups gain entry to the
NPL Boys West Playoffs, which will be held June 24-28 in Denver, Colorado. NPL Boys East/West Playoffs participants compete for advancement to the NPL Finals, where National Premier Leagues titles are won. The U-18/19 boys age group only has one stage, and that qualifier advances directly to the NPL Finals.
